|jacked_up_jerk||01:33 am - Extreme Writing Challenge|
since this community's been inactive for some time, cathyrne and I discussed reviving it by proposing some writing challenges. A bit different then last year's Thon, the idea would be to center fics around an obscure theme, with open-ended concepts and objects like 'eyes' or 'cold.' It's somewhat like the drabble challenges, only with an extended period of time and an extreme twist.
if there's any thoughts, opinions, support, or disagreements you have, then comment please.

|lm||01:19 pm - LJSanta: Fics posted!|
If you wrote for LJSanta, there's a story with your name on it at the archive. If you didn't write for it, and you were supposed to, your story is marked as a story for a deadbeat, because that's what you are. Shame on you!
If you didn't participate, but like LJS fic, then just go on over there and enjoy the 29 new stories we have for you.

|lm||12:15 am - Announcing an L. J. Smith challenge|
LJSanta is open for sign-ups.
What is LJSanta, you ask?
Well, I'll tell you. It's an L. J. Smith fanfiction Secret Santa. You write a 500-word (minimum) fic for someone else, based on some criteria they've filled out. Someone writes something for you as well. No one knows who's writing for them, and everyone gets a nice holiday present.
When you sign up you enter in one book series that can have anything written about, two relationships you'd like to see a story about, and one character you'd like to see anything written about. You can enter in a maximum rating and/or one thing you don't want to see. What gets written for you will be based on that.
The schedule for LJSanta is as follows:
November 30th: Last day to sign up.
December 1st: Assignments sent out.
December 21st: Assignments due.
December 24th: Stories posted without authors' names.
December 31st: Authors' names added.
For more information about LJSanta, visit the site, or contact me in the comments, or at damon at panavatar dot net. Cheers!

title: men were gather'd round their blazing homes
author: aka idolatrie
series: VD, damon/stefan
notes: slash. took major liberties with the challenge theme - this was one of those fics that wake you up at four in the morning and write themselves, there's a v.v.subtle (read: barely there) link that works for me but might not actually make sense...didn't know how strictly the challenge had to be followed. anyhow, this was another experiment, including the style, um..and lots of random quotes all through.
